Brad Laurvick has served the northwest Denver community for years — first through Denver Urban Ministries, then as pastor of Highlands United Methodist Church on 32nd Avenue. He knows the neighborhoods, the families, and the challenges facing District 5.
His campaign came during a critical moment for Denver education. In early 2019, Denver teachers walked out in a historic three-day strike — the first in 25 years — demanding fair pay and an end to the district's bonus-heavy compensation system. Brad stood with educators on the picket lines and carried their priorities into his platform.
